Flood plain informational meeting to be held

There will be a flood plain informational meeting held on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. at Plymouth City Hall, 128 Smith Street, Plymouth in Room 305. The informational meeting is being hosted by the City of Plymouth and the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce as an opportunity for residents and businesses to review FEMA's newly defined flood plain boundaries in Plymouth. The Plymouth Chamber of Commerce has learned that several Plymouth businesses and residents previous NOT in the flood plain are now considered in the flood plain. With these new FEMA flood plain boundaries, any business or home with a mortgage (now in the flood plain) will be required to have flood insurance.

Matthew Mrochinski of Sheboygan County Planning Department will give an overview of the new flood plain mapping and explain the current situation and options. The building owners and residents are encouraged to attend.
