Lace ‘em up for a local run/walk!

The 3rd Annual Plymouth Fun Run will be held Saturday, Aug. 22 at Plymouth City Park.

The five-mile run and two-mile run/walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. in this family-oriented event promoting physical activity and wellness.

The preregistration fee, including a short-sleeved T-shirt, is $12; without a T-shirt, is $10; and a family rate, which includes four T-shirts, is $45.

Race-day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with a race-day fee of $18 – with no guarantee of a T-shirt.

The five-mile run heads north out of town and loops around La Ferme and Sargento over gently rolling hills. The two-mile route follows a relatively flat, fast out-and-back course.

Following the race, participants can indulge in healthy snacks and check out various nutrition and wellness booths before the awards ceremony. The race awards categories provide all participants with an opportunity to place, so it’s a great event for runners of all ages.

Proceeds go to support recreational programming through Community Education and Recreation.
