RICHARD L. RINGEL
Richard L. Ringel, age 68, of 620 Wisconsin Ave., Adell, Wis., passed away late Monday evening, Aug. 3, 2009, at Columbia-St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee.
He was born on Sept. 30, 1940, in Sheboygan, Wis., a son of the late David W. and Mary Elizabeth Temme Ringel. Richard attended Waldo Grade School and graduated from Waldo High School in 1959.
He served in the United States Navy from 1959-61.
On Nov. 10, 1962, he married Kathleen Siech at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade. The couple resided in Plymouth, Cascade and moved to Adell in 1982.
Richard worked at the Whey Plant in Adell, Borden’s Company in Plymouth, Bolen’s Company in Port Washington for 31 years, Trak Corp. in Port Washington and had been working at Times Printing in Random Lake for three years.
He served as president of District 10 Local Union 1430 for several years and also served as president of the Adell Yetti Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, snowmobiling, camping, fishing and spent his retirement years feeding and watching his birds.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Kathleen of Adell; two sons, Timothy Ringel of Waukesha and Mark Ringel of Merrill, Wis., one grandson, Benjamin Ringel of Delafield; one brother, Darrell (Cindy) Ringel of Waldo; four sisters, Judy (Lester) Leynse of Cedar Grove, Pam (Dennis) Knuth of Howards Grove, Barbara (Bruce) Lukens of Cedar Grove, Mary (Gene) Sommers of Howards Grove; three brothers-in-law, Edwin (Kathy) Siech of Sheboygan, Wesley Siech of Sarasota, Fla., Richard (Mary) Siech of Waldo; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Siech and Donna Ringel, both of Sheboygan; and his sidekick niece, Terri Siech of Sarasota, Fla.
Also survived by other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edward and Florence Siech; two brothers, Leon and infant David.
Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 9, at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. The Rev. Lorri Steward, associate pastor of Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Sheboygan will officiate. Cremation has taken place.
Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home from 3 p.m. on Sunday until the time of services.
