Sheboygan's Samson Hou-Seye competes at youth World Cup for weight lifting

Sheboygan's Samson Hou-Seye was in Oklahoma City, Saturday, for day 1 of the 15th Annual NASA World Cup Meet. Hou-Seye, 9, missed the World Cup Meet in 2008, due to other family obligations, but took 1st Place, this year, for his 5th World Cup Title.

Samson has lifted in 67 Meets in 15 different States, since June of 2004, earning him the distinction of the Nation's most prolific Youth Lifter.

Hou-Seye was successful on 8 out of 9 attempts, including a personal best 38.5 Lbs. Curl, a personal best 57.2 Lbs. Benchpress, and a personal best 118 Lbs. Deadlift, to combine for a personal best 214 Lbs. Total. Samson competed in the 88 Lbs. Youth Power Sports Division, and lifted at a bodyweight of 82.5 Lbs. NASA Youth are prohibited from lifting more than 150% of bodyweight, and may not wear any supportive Lifting Gear, other than a Lifter's Belt.

Samson is a student at Bethlehem Lutheran School.
