49th annual Wade House Arts and Crafts Fair Aug. 23
The annual Wade House Arts and Crafts Fair fundraiser event returns to the scenic, wooded grounds of the 1860s Wade House stagecoach inn Sunday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Artists and craftspeople from across Wisconsin and beyond will display and sell their wares at what has become one of the most popular fairs of its kind in eastern Wisconsin. Over 100 craft booths will be set up on the picturesque grounds of the historic site.
A greatly expanded selection of arts and crafts this year will include baskets, wreaths, paintings, country crafts, Christmas ornaments, dolls, jewelry, lawn decorations, wooden spoons, throws and blankets, birdhouses and bird baths, photographs, lamps, soy candles and soaps, quilts, dried flowers, purses, glassware, wall hangings, furniture, wooden bowls, ceramic pots, rugs and vases. Many exhibitors will demonstrate their crafts.
Fair-goers’ appetites will be satisfied by a variety of food, including a tantalizing selection of offerings at the Greenbush Cupboard café, where visitors may choose from hand-crafted sandwiches, premium beef hot dogs, freshly-baked cookies, ice cream, and beverages, including hot coffee and baked goods in the morning.
A brat fry will be hosted by the Greenbush American Legion. There will also be fried rice, egg rolls, corn dogs, nachos, pretzels, chicken, kettle corn, lemonade, shaved ice, apple pies, caramel apples, apple dumplings, and cookies provided by various other local businesses and organizations.
Visitors are encouraged to follow the signs and Wade House staff to the parking areas. For this day only,
admission to the entire site is just $3.50 per person (under 17 free).
