DONALD ALDEN BURKART
Donald A. Burkart, 83, of Sheboygan Falls, died Friday morning, Aug. 7, 2009, at the Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls.
Donald was born April 30, 1926, Sheboygan, son of the late Leo and Erna (Alberts) Burkart. He attended Sheboygan Central High School.
Following high school, he served in the U.S. Army from 1944-46. On Dec. 17, 1956, he married Josiane Hubert in Dubuque, Iowa. Josiane preceded him in death Dec. 5, 2002.
Donald was employed with Bemis Manufacturing for 40 years until the time of his retirement in 1998.
Survivors include his daughter, Vivianne (Stephen) Whitcomb of Erin Township, Wis., and one sister, Beverly (John) Nottling of New Hostein.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Josiane, his parents and his parents-in-law.
Donald was an avid hunter and fisherman, had a wonderful sense of humor, and was a loyal Green Bay Packer fan.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Aug. 10, at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Donald Hasse officiating. Burial followed at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
