LINDA L. CARDENAS

Linda L. Cardenas, age 56, of Glenbeulah, Wis., passed away unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center on Thursday evening, Aug. 6, 2009.

She was born Aug. 28, 1952 in Plymouth, daughter of the late DeLyle and Virginia (Picard) Behr. She graduated from Elkhart Lake High School in 1970. She then attended Lakeshore Technical College for two years with an Associates degree in education. Linda then worked in the Sheboygan Area School District for several years.

On Aug. 28, 1976, she married Pedro Cardenas at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls. The couple made their home in Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Sturgeon Bay and lived in Texas for several years before settling back in her hometown of Glenbeulah.

Linda had worked at Sargento Cheese for 20 years before retiring in 2008.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Her husband, children and grandchildren were the center of her life and Linda was beloved by all.

Survivors include her husband Pedro; three daughters, Shannon (Robert) Pfister of Sheboygan, Dawn (Robert) Flores of Indiana and Lindsay Cardenas of San Deigo; two sons, Pedro A. Cardenas of Sheboygan and Andrew Cardenas of Glenbeulah; nine grandchildren, Lacey, Madelynn, Jordan and Angela Pfister, Alicia Cardenas, Alex and Xavier Flores and Taylor and Casey Welsing; one sister, Cheryl (Jose) Layton of Sheboygan and two brothers, Randy (Susan) Behr of Sheboygan and Roland (Ruth) Behr of Racine; her nieces and nephews, Dawn Behr, Angie (Tim) Mc Neil, Shelby Layton, Antonio and Joseph Layton, Ashly (Clint) McShaw, Kayla and Cody Behr and Tonya and Michael Villwock; and her extended special family members, Max and Rhonda Welsing, Genie and Chrissy Michalski and Jenny and Marc Rohde; as well as her loving aunts, uncles and cousins and her loving canine companion, Libby.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth. The Rev. Don Johnson, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
