DOLORES A. PETERS

Dolores A. Peters, age 90, of Plymouth passed away Monday morning, Aug. 10, 2009, at the Beechwood Rest Home, where she has been a resident the past two years.

She was born Aug. 24, 1918, in the town of Scott, a daughter of the late Jacob and Olga (Trost) Horning. She attended Beechwood grade school and graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1936.

She had been employed at Kraft Cheese for 11 years, then A&P Foods and for 31 years at A&P Cheese.

On Oct. 21, 1939, she married Harold S. Peters. They made their home in Plymouth. Her husband preceded her in death March 9, 1976.

She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth.

Dolores loved to dance to Big Band music, and was also very good with sewing and mending.

Survivors include two nieces, Nola (William) Morton of Plymouth and Nancy Horning of Kewaskum; three nephews, Glenn (Mary) Horning, Russ (Cindy) Horning and James (Kim) Horning, all of Adell; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Horning.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth with the Rev. James Hoppert, pastor of Salem UCC, officiating. Burial will be in the Beechwood Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until the hour of service. A memorial fund will be established in Dolores’ name. Online condolences may be sent to www.wittkoppschneider.com.
