Waldo man places third in walleye event
OSHKOSH – Robert Schneidewind of Waldo teamed up with Baraboo’s Luke Leanna to place third in the Wal-Mart FLW Walleye League Wisconsin Division event on Lake Winnebago Aug. 10.
Leanna, the boater, and Schneidewind, the co-angler, combined to catch five walleyes weighing a total of 13 pounds, 8 ounces. Schneidewind won $1,300 and Leanna earned $2,600.
Boater Dan Price of Oshkosh and his co-angler, Derek Navis of Waupun, won the tournament with five walleyes were a combined 14 pounds, 8 ounces. Price won $5,600 and Navis received $2,800.
Boaters and co-anglers are randomly paired for the event and fish for a combined boat weight. Boaters compete against other boaters, and co-anglers compete against other co-anglers.
