4-H-Spring Valley – Aug. 18

The Spring Valley 4-H club meeting was held Aug. 10 and was called to order at 8:01 p.m. The pledges were led by Alex Kleiber for the American pledge and Beth Merten for the 4-H pledge.

The secretary’s report was accepted by Steven Scott, and the treasurer’s report was accepted by Emma Hellmer.

In old business, Kathy Schwartz talked about the County Fair Food Stand and needing parents for Friday afternoon.

Jess Arbuckle talked about the club fair booth. There would be a fair booth meeting Tuesday, Aug. 19.

Kathy Schwartz talked about the club's softball team and was impressed with their good sportsmanship. Becky Schwartz talked about Anything Goes and putting a team together.

The forms for pizza and pie sales will come out in September.

Volunteers were needed for the Youth Building Clean-up from 1-3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17. Theme basket donations were due at the meeting.

Members can fill out a form for Project Awards and turn them in at the September meeting. New members can go to the judging workshop Aug. 20 at the fairgrounds.

In new business, next month is officer elections. If you want to run, let Kathy, Barb or Mary know by Sept. 7.

Alex Kleiber gave a speech about rockets he built for the float. Lucas Hellmer and Ethan Hau also gave a speech about the 4-H Gateway Academy at Plymouth High School.

Clover Award forms and record books are due at the October meeting. Our club brat fry will be Nov. 1.

Our next officer and director meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Greenbush Town Hall conference room. Our next club meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14.

Andrew Meyer made a motion to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 8:43 p.m.
