DOROTHY MARIE WALSH

Dorothy M. Walsh, 80, of Woodland Manor in Sheboygan Falls, died Tuesday evening, Aug. 18, 2009, at St. Nicholas Hospital where she had been a patient since Friday.

Dorothy was born Feb. 11, 1929 in the town of Wilson, the daughter of the late John B. and Josephine (Rammer) Trimberger. Dorothy was baptized at St. George Catholic Church at Six Corners in the town of Wilson. She graduated from Oostburg High School in 1946.

On June 28, 1947, Dorothy and Kenneth Walsh conferred the Sacrament of Matrimony on each other also at St. George Catholic Church. Her married life brought her to the town of Lima. It was there that she raised her 11 children and had them baptized at St. Rose Catholic Church at Five Corners. Kenneth preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1983.

Dorothy became a member of Blessed Trinity Parish (formerly St. Mary’s) in Sheboygan Falls.

She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #149 in Sheboygan Falls, serving as its president for 13 years. For many years she was a member and officer of the local TOPS group and the Homemakers Club.

Dorothy was a happy, busy, and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, sewing, water aerobics, and spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by three daughters, Kathy Walsh of Sheboygan, Judy (Tom) Winscher of Beaver Dam and Chris (Mark) Melger of Plymouth; six sons, Fred (Debbie) of Sheboygan Falls, Andrew (Carol) of Batavia, Luke (Penny) of Ft. Atkinson, Michael (Cheryl) of Plymouth, Paul (Paula) of Kiel and Matthew (Cheryl) Walsh of Cleveland; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn (Tom) Berlin of Sheboygan Falls; 24 grandchildren and step grandchildren, Luke and Tom Wirth, Greg (Leah) and Sara Walsh, Katie and Jeremiah Winscher, Anne (Tony) Krauter and Patrick Melger, Joe, Josh and Trisha Walsh, Aaron (Maggie), Kellan and Morgan Walsh, Kati and Dustin Walsh, Stephanie and Riles Walsh, Evan, Brock, Nicholas and Brianna Walsh and Daniel and Stephen Darrow; seven great-grandchildren, James Dutton, Kitty Kline, Emmitt Krauter, Ethan, Zachary, Jade and Libby Walsh; and one great-greatgrandson, Dylan Viox. Dorothy is also survived by one sister, Claire Stahmer of Littleton, Colo.; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Trimberger of Green Bay, Ann Trimberger of Sheboygan and Glorietta Swenarski of Oostburg; and one brother-in-law, Robert Walsh of Sheboygan Falls; and innumerable cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents, John B. and Josephine Trimberger; two sons, John and James Walsh; four sisters, Germaine (Norbert) Schmitz, Sr. Marcella Trimberger, Caroline (Richard) Warnecke and Marian (Edward) Morgan; four brothers, Roman, Joseph, John and Michael Trimberger; her parents-in-law, Robert and Matilda Walsh; and a sister-inlaw, Valeria Walsh; and Valeria’s two sons, Robert and Rockford Walsh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrate Dorothy’s life at Blessed Trinity Parish, located at 327 Giddings Ave. in Sheboygan Falls, at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, with the Rev. Robert Lotz officiating. The American Legion Auxiliary will conduct a prayer service at 5:45 p.m. Private family burial will take place at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery in the town of Lima.

Friends may call at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls on Friday from 3 p.m. until the time of the American Legion service at 5:45 p.m.
