EVELYN R. TRIPHAN

Evelyn R. Triphan, age 89, of County PP in Plymouth, went to be with her Lord Tuesday morning, Aug. 18, 2009, at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls, where she has been a resident the past six weeks.

She was born April 20, 1920, in the town of Mitchell, a daughter of the late Alfred and Ada (Laabs) Roepke. She attended the Spring Farm and Payne grade schools and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1937.

On June 21, 1941, she married Earl W. Triphan. They lived in the town of Scott and then Random Lake before moving to Plymouth where they built their home and her husband’s business garage, known as Triphan Motor Service. Her husband preceded her in death March 25, 1984.

Evelyn had been employed at the Sentry Food Store for many years. She is a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth.

Evelyn enjoyed traveling not only in the U.S. but also abroad – Holland, Germany, Ireland, France and Spain.

Survivors include one son, Brian (Cheryl) of Waldo; four grandchildren, Ashley Triphan and her special friend Cinto, of Spain, Brittney (Andy) Jacobs of Green Bay, Aaron and Brice Triphan, both of Waldo; one sister, Edith (Roland) Tauschek of the town of Sheboygan Falls; and her sisters-in-law, LaVern Bonnett, Olive Ardell and Gloria (Willard) Kleinhans, all of Plymouth.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Roepke.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth with the Rev. Nathan Meador, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church Friday from 4 p.m. until the hour of service. A memorial fund will be established in Evelyn’s name. The Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Service in Plymouth is serving the family. Online condolences may be sent to www.wittkoppschneider.com.
