WILLIS C. JENSEN JR.
Willis C. Jensen Jr., age 72, formerly of N2736 Hickory Grove Road, Cascade, passed away early Tuesday morning, Aug. 18, 2009, at Arbor View Manor in Plymouth where he had been a resident for the past one and one-half years.
He was born July 4, 1937 in Sheboygan, Wis., a son of the late Willis C. Jensen Sr. and Dorothy Zimmermann Jensen. Willis attended Cascade Elementary School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1955.
He served in the United States Navy from 1956-62.
He worked at Borden’s Foods in Plymouth and at Simplicity Co. in Port Washington, retiring in 1994 after 29.5 years.
On Aug. 25, 1973, he married Sallie Flunker Schneider at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade. The couple resided on Lake Ellen after their marriage, town of Mitchell (Parnell) before moving to Plymouth in 2008.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade.
Willis enjoyed hunting in Ashland and was an avid E.W.S.C.A. Ran fan and especially the No. 1 K.J. Skelton fan.
Survivors include his wife, Sallie of Plymouth; four children: Jeff (Rebecca) Jensen of Sheboygan, Robin (Dane) Gudex of Arizona, Mark (Mary) Jensen of Cascade and James Jensen of Cascade; one daughter-in-law, Kathleen (Brian) Schmidt of Glenbeulah; seven grandchildren: Stephanie Rortvedt (fiancé, Jesse Jacobson) of Plymouth, Ashley Gudex of Minnesota, Kevin Jensen of Cascade, Cody Jensen of Cascade, Jessica Jensen of Plymouth, and Daniel and Madeline Schneider of Glenbeulah; his mother-in-law, Lucille Mueller of Plymouth; two sisters, Crystal Radder of Plymouth and Sherry Sagel of Cascade; three sisters-inlaw, Judy Shovan of Cascade, Linda (Dennis) Wieck of Elkhart Lake and Jill Flunker of Cascade; two brothers-in-law, John (Sherry) Flunker of Parnell and Charles (Jean) Flunker of Waldo; and also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Ron Schneider; father-in-law, Alfred Flunker; his sister, Dawn Carlson and her husband, Ken; three brothers-in-law, Wally Flunker, Roger Shovan and Richard Flunker; one niece, Theresa Sagel and one nephew, Dan Flunker.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth with the Rev. Ed Kletzien officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Cascade.
Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of services. The Plymouth VFW World Cheese Post #5612 will conduct military rites following the services at the funeral home.
