Sheriff’s Report – Aug. 19

A 5-year-old boy from Hartland was injured at Road America Aug. 18 after he flipped his go-kart while racing at the track.

According to Capt. David Adams, after emergency personnel from Plymouth Ambulance treated the boy for a head injury, he was transported to Children’s Hospital by Flight for Life.

The accident happened at approximately 6:57 p.m. after the boy struck another go-kart and was ejected – he was wearing a helmet, but the helmet flew off after impact.
