4-H-Madison All Stars-July 2009
The July 14 meeting of the Madison All Stars 4-H Club was held at the River Park shelter, and we had our annual Club Picnic. It began with Brandon Debbink calling the meeting to order. The American pledge was led by Evan Sukowaty, and the 4-H pledge was led by Jolynn Zinthefer. The roll call question was: “How many fair projects have you completed?”
The secretary’s report was given by Andrew Minster followed with the treasurer’s report given by David Bimmel. There was no reporters’ report this month.
Reports of the following were given: Sunshine Committee report – Heather Pfeifer; the Youth Association report – Shawn Burkhardt; the Leader’s Association report – no report (no meeting in June). Six items of correspondence were read by Brandon Debbink.
Old business
was next on the agenda: Stephanie Kleckner gave a final report on the June Dairy Month Window Display; Emily Pearce concluded the June Dairy Month at Plymouth Care Center; Brandon Debbink spoke about Addie the Cow at Wings n’ Wheels; and Evan Sukowaty summarized the Club Picnic.
Next on the agenda was ongoing business:
Andrew Minster let us know that the next Adopt-A-Highway would be held July 18 and thanked everyone who has helped so far; Brandon Debbink summarized that our softball season was undefeated so far; Katie Deheck talked about the flower garden at the old Sheboygan Falls Town Hall; Peter Bimmel reported on our club trip to Mauthe Lake and Elkhart Lake, which would happen Aug. 22; no new news on the fair food stand according to Elizabeth Barthels; no new news on the Enchanted Forest according to Tiffany Fischer.
Speeches and demonstrations were held as follows: Abigail Sonnentag explained maneuvers as taught by a horse trainer from Portugal; and Grace Sonnentag talked about her trip to North Dakota.
New business
included the following: Randy Meyer discussed the Anything Goes event that takes place during the upcoming Sheboygan County Fair; Bev Resop talked about the Sheboygan County 4-H Leaders Association having a 4-H Silent Auction as a new fundraiser at this year’s County Fair; Randy Meyer gave a few dates that Camp Riversite is looking for clean-up help in the next several months.
