4-H- LIMA LITES – August 2009

Before the Lima Lites 4-H club August meeting started, we had a meeting for the Falls Fest Parade and an officers’ meeting. We brought school supplies, and beauty products for the food pantry.

Ashley Meyer called the meeting to order, and Hannah Schleicher and Kristen Schueffner led us in the “Pledge of Allegiance” and 4-H pledge. Roll call was your favorite pest.

Emily Schaefer then gave her secretary’s report. Ashley Meyer gave the treasurer’s report and the committee information report, and Tiffany Humphrey gave the sunshine report and told us she would send a letter to Mike Proefrock, who had recently been in a motorcycle accident.

Mrs. Marten told us about community builders. We also did family focus.

Old business:

Emily Schaefer and Anna Seifert talked about the club picnic.

Kelly Jens reported that Jimmy Jens, Kelly Jens and Abby Mauer all went to State Fair this year with their dairy animals and did fairly well. Kyle Marten also sent to State Fair with his rocket.

New business:

Emily Schaefer talked about our club’s theme for the Falls Fest Parade.

Mrs. Schaefer talked about the general leaders information and that we needed a new co-leader. She also told members to look at the Cloverleaf Crier for further information on the fair and activities. They also had extra shifts at the fair food stand.

We then filled out sheets that were for running for an officer this coming year.

The meeting then was adjourned.

Talks and demos were given by: Ann Jens, her scrapbook; Anna Seifert, an arts project she made with her grandma; Dylan Humphrey, a scooter he made with his dad (and helped with welding it); Mason Miller, his poster about racing; and Emily Schaefer, her photography.

We ended the meeting with cheesy popcorn and puff popcorn to go along with the movie we watched after the meeting. We watched “Race to Witch Mountain.”
