Two brothers canoe the Fox River for a cause
Two local brothers, Craig and Keith Peaslee, are going to canoe the Fox River for the benefit of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sheboygan County.
They are leaving Aug. 28 and are set to return on Sept. 10. As they paddle from town to town, Craig Peaslee will be performing benefit concerts with his guitar at local establishments.
The brothers are starting in Portage and traveling north through Oshkosh, Appleton, Green Bay and Sturgeon Bay. Then they plan to hug the coast of Lake Michigan and stop in Two Rivers before returning home, for a total canoe trip of more than 300 miles.
On Thursday, Sept. 10, the duo will be playing at the Z Spot coffee shop that night to celebrate their homecoming.
At each performance Craig Peaslee plays, there will be an opportunity to donate to the local Big Brothers Big Sisters agency to help meet annual expenses.
In 2008, the local non-profit agency provided 556 children with adult volunteer mentors to provide guidance as well as social and recreational activities for these children.
