Sheriff’s Report – Aug. 31

Two people were injured Aug. 24 in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County V and County I in the town of Lima.

According to the accident report, at 4:40 p.m. Bruce P. Warnecke, 58, of Cascade proceeded from the stop sign on County I onto County V and in front of an eastbound vehicle driven by Rebecca J. Stroschein, 28, of Sheboygan Falls. Warnecke, who was also pulling a trailer, attempted evasive maneuvers but did not have time and struck Stroschein’s vehicle on the passenger side.

Stroschein and her passenger, 4-year-old Owen Stroschein, were injured. Owen was trapped and had to be extricated from the vehicle; he was then flighted to Children’s Hospital for possible head and wrist injuries. Rebecca was taken to St. Nicholas Hospital by Oostburg Ambulance with back, rib, and shoulder injuries.
