Thanks to Otter Creek
To the Editor:
The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) of Fairview Elementary would like to thank Otter Creek Landscaping in advance for their efforts to help two schools in the Plymouth and Sheboygan school districts. They have decided for the first time to hold a silent auction from Sept. 10-20 at their facility.
There will be perennials, trees, shrubs, patio furniture, and pottery up for auction. People are invited to come to Otter Creek on State 57 from Sept. 10-20 to view the items up for bid.
When they decide which item or items they would like to bid on, they simply choose which charity they would like as the beneficiary. This year the recipients will be Fairview Elementary in Plymouth and Lake Country Academy in Sheboygan. The original bid will go to Otter Creek to cover their costs, and the remainder of the winning bid will be distributed to the school that was chosen by the bidder.
Mike Beeck of Otter Creek realized that the school districts are in need of financial help with recent budget cuts, and thought what a wonderful way for him, as a business owner, to help the schools.
What a fine example of the community getting involved in the educational system in times of need. The money donated to Fairview will help fund field trips, technology in the classrooms, such as sound amplification systems and Elmo projectors, assemblies, and hosting an Artist in Residence. These are some of the things that the district otherwise could not afford.
We, the PTO of Fairview Elementary would like to give our sincere thank you to Mike Beeck of Otter Creek Landscape and to challenge other businesses to do similar type projects to help the schools in the area. Together, we can help our children continue to have great educational experiences here in the Plymouth School District.
