Blood drive in Sheboygan Falls
Donors in the Sheboygan Falls area are reminded that a blood drive will be held Monday, Sept. 14, at St. Paul Lutheran Church (730 County PPP, Sheboygan Falls) from 12:30-4:30 p.m.
Not enough donors are seen during the summer months, as vacations and warm weather activities take donors out of their normal routine. Help your community by donating after Labor Day when supplies drop.
Because blood supplies are a limited resource that can be used up every two-three days, donating with BloodCenter makes an immediate difference in people’s lives. Currently most blood types have a one-three day supply available to the hospitals served.
BloodCenter of Wisconsin, a not-for-profit organization, provides without exception all blood and blood products used at St. Nicholas Hospital, Aurora HealthCare, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and statewide to more than 50 medical centers.
Donors interested in giving should make an appointment by calling 467-6449. Appointments are encouraged, but are not necessary.
To ensure a great donation, donors should drink plenty of water, have a snack before giving, and don’t forget your picture ID – it’s required.
Almost anyone can donate blood. Basic requirements for donating include being at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weighing at least 110 pounds, and in general good health.
It takes less than an hour to donate a pint of whole blood, and with one donation, you can save up to three lives.
BloodCenter of Wisconsin’s mission is to provide life-saving solutions through medical expertise and scientific discovery. This allows BloodCenter to work closely with the hospitals that it serves and provide better care to patients in Wisconsin.
