Depression support group starting

Mental Health America is offering a free, six-week support group for any adult currently receiving treatment for depression. The Health and Hope Support Group will meet once per week from 8:30-10 a.m. in the community meeting room of the United Way building, 2020 Erie Ave., Sheboygan, beginning Tuesday, Oct. 20, and running through Nov. 24.

Dr. James Lipusch, a psychologist with BridgePoint Health in Sheboygan, will facilitate the group.

In order to participate, individuals must be at least 18 years of age, complete a one-page registration form, and be receiving professional help for depression from a family doctor or mental health professional. The group is meant to serve as an additional resource to individuals, not to replace the professional help they are receiving.

For additional information about the support group or to request a registration form, call Mental Health America at (920) 458-3951.

Mental Health America is a United Way-affiliated organization that has been promoting good mental health in Sheboygan County for 46 years. Additional information and a calendar of upcoming events can be found at www.mhasheboygan.org.
