Public hearing scheduled for State 57 access controls

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Regional office at Green Bay has announced a public hearing to gather comments on access controls proposed for 9.4 miles of State 57 from State 23 in Sheboygan County north to the Sheboygan County line. The meeting is being held Thursday, Sept. 10, from 5-7 p.m. at the town of Rhine Town Hall, W5250 County FF, Elkhart Lake.

The public hearing is being held as an open house. No presentation is planned. Rather, the public is invited to stop by during the times listed to examine maps and exhibits, talk with staff and provide comments. A court reporter will be available to record testimony.

The purpose of access control measures is to provide reasonable access to adjacent properties while preserving the safe flow of traffic.

Persons unable to attend the meeting can make their comments or receive information concerning this project by contacting Patrick Laux, WisDOT Northeast Region, 944 Vanderperren Way, Green Bay, WI 54324. The meeting site is wheelchair-accessible. An American Sign Language interpreter will be present at the public hearing.
