4-H-HermanCheeri-os – August meeting
The Aug. 3, 2009 Herman Cheeri-o’s 4-H meeting was called to order by President Andy Taylor at 8 p.m. at Memorial Park, preceded by the traditional club picnic sponsored by Kathy and Gene Kaestner.
The secretary report was read by Lizzie Widder, and the treasurer’s report was read by Abby Milbrath.
Upcoming events for the Older Youth include planning the Anything Goes event for the County Fair.
4-H County Camp was great. The theme was “Time Warp.” Next year Outpost Camp will be going to Devil’s Lake.
Softball is over now. We had a great turnout this year and a lot of fun.
Andy Taylor, Elizabeth Widder, Sarah Lillesand, John Braatz, Tori and Hunter Hoppe, and Dana and Kayla Wunsch attended Mill Street Fest for Dairy Promotions.
The Silver Dollar Parade theme was changed to “Hay – 4-H Rocks.” Please sign the thank you card for Feldman’s for providing the tractor to pull the float.
If you have 4-H photos for the Fair Booth, please e-mail them to the Hoppes. The booth will be judged by the Leader’s Association, and prizes will be awarded to top booths.
Only two people came to the swim party before it was rained out.
Cloverbud Camp will be postponed this year due to low enrollment. We will possibly have a “minicamp” experience in fall, or a winter camp.
Barn decoration themes are: Beef – “Dancing with Herman Cheeri-o Beef”; Dairy – “Deck the Stalls With Cows and Holly”; Horses – “Celebrity Horses.”
Mikayla and Carmen help with the Reins program and say it is a great experience. See them for more information.
Bossy Bingo is all set. Bill’s Piggly Wiggly is helping with supplies. Toppings were donated by Woodlake Market. Candy was donated by Filipse. Five buckets of ice cream were donated by Dean’s.
The Johnson family will be taking care of the 4-H garden in Sheboygan next week.
The Wunsch family is organizing a basket to be in a silent auction at the Fair. The theme is “Taste of Sheboygan County.” Please bring donations to the WUnsch’s by Aug. 17.
Congratulations to Megan Grimmenga and Sarah Lillesand for their writing contest certificates. Record books are due Oct. 1 or earlier! No talks tonight. The next meeting will be on Sept. 14, at 7:30 p.m., at Howards Grove Middle School.
