Plymouth Panthers Invitational Soccer Tournament
SHEBOYGAN – The Plymouth Panthers played their hearts out in Saturday’s Sheboygan North Invitational boys soccer tournament – finishing 2-0-1 but not making the finals.
PHS lost a nail-biter to eventual champion Sheboygan South in the semifinals with the match being decided in a penalty kick shoot-out. The game was knotted 1-1 after regulation.
The Redwings edged city rival North in the championship match, 2-1. A third-place game wasn’t held in the eight-team tourney, only a consolation-bracket final.
Panther head coach Bruce McMyler, in his 10th season at PHS, reached a milestone of 200 career victories when his team defeated West Bend East, 1-0, in its third game Saturday.
“We’ve had some very talented players who have contributed to this. I’m proud of this,” McMyler said.
