HOWARDS GROVE – The Village Board approved and recognized the importance of the 2010 census and agreed to form a complete count committee to promote the census, assuring that all residents of the community are counted. A resolution supporting the 2010 census was approved unanimously.

Treasurer/Clerk Mary Zore informed board members that the computer server was in need of replacement and that a new one was ordered.

Zore also stated that Plan Commission member Mike Jarentowski has moved from the village and his seat is vacant.

Complaints from village residents about dog feces on the sidewalks have been reported. It was suggested to look for a dog park to help alleviate the problem.

Building inspector Jim Schuette reported that the streetlights in Forest Hills subdivision were repaired. Security cameras in the park were also discussed.

Trustee Dale Wuestenhagen received a call asking permission to land the Theda Clark “Flight for Life” helicopter in Riverside Park. After discussion, the Park Committee suggested that the constables be called upon for spectator safety.

Public Works Committee Chairman Dan Binversie stated that the Deerfield stormwater project would be rebidded. New bids will be presented to the Konz brothers. The village will loan the money to complete the project.

Discussion followed and it was decided that a public hearing was needed for driveway cutbacks. Some of the cutbacks may be more severe than others for some residents, and the village will try to provide pictures. A policy may be developed as to how much the village will allow.
