RONALD D. HOLZSCHUH
Dr. Ronald D. Holzschuh, 72, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 2009.
Ron was born in Plymouth, Wis., a place he always loved.
He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1959 and was an award-winning member of the basketball team. He was well known for his personal column in the Plymouth Highlights school newsletter under the pen name of Katrina Yabash.
He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, received his master’s from Bowling Green State University, his doctorate from Florida State, followed by a fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
In 1965 he started and was executive director of KC Big Brothers and Big Sisters for 10 years. Later, he worked as a clinical psychologist until shortly before his death.
His personal joy was writing poetry, often celebrating the loved ones in his life. His poems can be found at www. Ronholzschuh.com.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ruth, whom he married Aug. 26, 1961; two daughters, Andrea Liebe Holzschuh of High Ridge, Mo., and Rhonda Liesl Holzschuh of Overland Park; a son, Roarke Dane Holzschuh of Kansas City, Mo.; Alan Barnes, his Little Brother; and his beloved dog, Sophie.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held from 1-2:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 4, at the Plymouth Arts Center, (an organization he generously supported) 520 East Mill St., in downtown Plymouth.
