Fohr’s three goals key Panthers’ rout
PLYMOUTH – Zach Fohr’s hat trick (three goals) sparked the Plymouth Panthers to a 9-0 thumping of Campbellsport here Thursday afternoon.
PHS, which upped its first-place Eastern Wisconsin Conference record to 10-0 (17-1-2 overall), has won seven in a row. The Panthers’ only loss was in their season opener against Grafton, 2-1.
“It was a good team effort. We know with Kiel right behind us, there’s no room for error,” said Panther head coach Bruce McMyler.
“We’re taking every conference match pretty seriously.”
Kiel is one game behind PHS in the EWC race at 9-1. Plymouth plays at Kiel Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
Max Gatyas and Ben Schuldt tallied two goals each. Marcus Adams and Josh Suchon contributed one apiece.
Fohr and Suchon paced PHS in assists with two each, followed by Gatyas, Zach Schroeder, Adam Raeder and Brad Mallmann with one apiece. The Panthers had the ball in the Cougars’ defensive end of the field most of the game en route to an 11-0 advantage in shots on goal.
“Overall, everybody played well. Ryan Klecka is having an outstanding year at sweeper. Brad Mallmann had another big game in from of Klecka [on defense],” McMyler said.
“Zach Fohr is playing well. He’s moving well off the ball.” The Cougars fell to 3-6 in the EWC (4-10 overall).
