Resorters stay unbeaten in CLC

ELKHART LAKE – The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters continued their winning ways with a 20-7 victory against the Ozaukee Warriors here Friday night.

The homecoming win upped the Resorters’ Central Lakeshore Conference football record to 3-0 (3-2 overall) and stretched their winning streak to three.

The Elkhart defense made big plays – causing two fumbles and holding Ozaukee to just 65 rushing yards on the night.

“Defensively, it started up front. We got a great push and it opened things up for our linebackers to make big plays,” said Elkhart coach Barry Feldmann.

Fullback Kyle Rentmeester led the way on offense for the Resorters – scoring two rushing touchdowns.

“He ran well. It all starts up front with the blocking. I’m very happy with my front line,” said Feldmann.

The road ahead does not get any easier for the Resorters as they prepare to take on Cedar Grove-Belgium Friday night at Elkhart. The Rockets, the defending league champions and 2008 Division 5 state runners-up, share the CLC lead with Elkhart and are 5-0 overall.

“We are taking it one game at a time. This game against Cedar Grove-Belgium will be a big one,” said Feldmann.
