Central Wisconsin artists sought for `Eight Counties’ exhibition

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center in downtown Sheboygan invites all artists – for whom art is either a profession or a pastime –to enter the Arts Center’s “Eight Counties” exhibition opening Jan. 25, 2010.

Showcasing works in all media including photography, painting, drawing, textiles, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, woodworking, metals and other materials, this exhibition highlights the talents of the region’s artists. All artists 18 years of age or older whose primary residence is in Sheboygan, Brown, Calumet, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, or Washington counties are encouraged to submit representations of their works by Friday, Oct. 30.

The “Eight Counties” exhibition is the 12th in a series of surveys devoted to the broadest possible range of art forms currently being practiced in east-central Wisconsin. Selected works will be chosen for display in the Arts Center’s spacious Collections & Community Galleries from Jan. 25 through March 21, 2010.

There is no entry fee to answer this call for participation. Artists are asked to submit images of at least two but no more than three works of art. Eligible entries must be original works created by the artist within the past three years, and they should not have been previously exhibited at the Arts Center. The entry form and complete guidelines are available at the Arts Center or online at www.jmkac.org/EightCounties.
