Resorters winless at Lourdes VB Invite

Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah finished 0-5 in Saturday’s Oshkosh Lourdes Invitational girls volleyball tournament.

The Resorters were swept twice by Lourdes (9-25, 14-25; 4-25, 14-25) and Gibraltar (19-25, 24-26; 15- 25, 15-25), and once by Marshfield Columbus (8-25, 7-25) and

“The girls adjusted well to a variety of lineups during the course of the day. We still struggle with serve reception,” said Resorter head coach Terri Huether.

“Improvement was shown in getting to the correct defensive spots and trying to run our offense.”

Rachel Knowles led Elkhart in spike kills with 11 and ace serves, three. Beth Merten had a team-high 15 assists.

Katelyn Winkel paced the Resorters in digs with 19. Abbey Neils was first in blocks with five.

OOSTBURG MATCH

Thursday night, the Resorters fell to host Oostburg in Central Lakeshore Conference action, 8-25, 6-25, 4-25.

Merten led the Resorters in digs with three and Winkel had two. Knowles and Winkel had one kill each.

“We struggled in many aspects of the game tonight. However, we did show bright points throughout the match,” Huether said.

Elkhart dropped to 0-5 in CLC duals.
