Tigers blanked in CLC match

RANDOM LAKE – Matt Knight scored three goals on breakways in the second half to spark Random Lake past visiting Howards Grove, 4-0, Tuesday afternoon.

The loss dropped the Tigers’ Central Lakeshore Conference boys soccer record to 3-7 (4-12-1 overall).

The match was tied 0-0 at halftime. Logan Raschke’s penalty kick gave the Rams a 1-0 lead 26 minutes into the second half.

“We controlled the tempo most of the game but couldn’t finish,” said Tiger head coach Todd Fischer.

“The Rams double-teamed Duston Rabe and were strong enough on defense that they didn't allow a score. We started to play their style of soccer after the penalty kick and we allowed the official to take us out of our game.

“We need to overcome obstacles and maintain our composure,” Fischer said. The Tigers had 11 shots but were unable to dent the Ram defense.
