Wish list for pet supplies

Golden LivingCenter and Harbor House Memory Care are sponsoring a drive for the month of October to help the Sheboygan County Humane Society obtain items from their wish list.

“It is great to see the calming effect pets have on our residents, so we are happy to help,” commented Jeff Weinshrott, C.O.T.A./RSD for Golden LivingCenter. “The partnership with Harbor House makes perfect sense as people with Alzheimer’s disease really respond to pet therapy.”

Wish list items include: non-clumping kitty litter, laundry soap, non-chlorox bleach, scotch scrubbing pads, dish detergent, cat toys, canned moist cat food, Science Diet cat, kitten and dog food, KMR found at Fleet Farm, rawhides, paper towels, toilet paper, copy paper, office supplies, Gerber baby cereal, litter pans, cat litter scoops, and gas gift cards.

The Humane Society also is seeking volunteers and people to provide foster homes.

Pam LaFond, LPN, executive director of Harbor House, has provided a foster home to abandoned kittens for many years, so she knows the benefits and needs of the Humane Society firsthand. “As a foster parent to multiple kittens for the Humane Society, it warms my heart to see kittens adopted into loving homes.”

If you would like to donate any items, please drop them off before Oct. 30 at either Golden LivingCenter, 3129 Michigan Ave., or Harbor House Memory Care, 2629 Indiana Ave.; both are located in Sheboygan.

For further information or if you wish to make a monetary donation, contact Jeff Weinshrott at (920) 458-1155 or Pam LaFond at (920) 452-7171.
