Elkhart teams fourth in Slinger CC Invite

SLINGER – Seniors Myles Galloway and Megan Meyers led the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters to fourth-place showings in the boys and girls Division 2 meets, respectively, at Thursday’s Slinger Invitational.

Galloway captured fourth with a time of 17 minutes, 41.87 seconds on the 3.1-mile course. Meyers earned seventh in her 2.5-mile race in 16:40.84.

The Resorters scored 106 points in the eight-team boys meet, won by Lomira with 54. Elkhart totaled 114 in the nine-team girls competition in which St. Mary’s Springs (Fond du Lac) took first with 42.

Lomira’s Jon Luedtke was the boys champion with a 16:52.49 effort. The girls’ winner was Grace Meurer of Springs in 15:49.41.

“They [Resorters] ran well. A lot of them had season and personal bests,” said Elkhart head coach Dan Stephanie.

“I was pleased with four place. I think we’re faster with the cold weather. There was good competition.”
