Family Resource Center classes for parents
The Family Resource Center of Sheboygan County has announced two upcoming classes for parents.
The center recognizes October as Appreciate Teens Month and for parents of teens, staff member Phil Duket and his wife, Carla Duket, will present a class Oct. 21 titled “Build a Better Teen.” The class runs from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and will be held at the Family Resource Center, 1209A Eastern Ave., Plymouth.
The class will give parents of teens timely information on the developing teen brain, common pitfalls of communication with teens and ways to remedy them, and much more. Parents are encouraged to attend this evening of encouragement and celebration of what it means to be a teen today.
Class is free of charge, but registration is required by calling 892-6706.
For the parents of children 0-6 months of age, the Family Resource Center will present “Parent Talk.” Come together Tuesday, Oct. 26, to share a free family meal and stay to discuss topics of typical behavior and skill learning for this age group. Meal begins at 5 p.m. and parent discussion is from 6-7 p.m. at 1209A Eastern Ave., Plymouth
Facilitated by Parent Educator Stephani Newby, the class will cover the highlights of infant early development and how parents can encourage baby in skills and brain growth. An opportunity for question and answer will take place.
