HAROLD A. “HARRY” LEHMANN
Harold A. “Harry” Lehmann, age 83, 306 N. Highland Ave., Plymouth, Wis., passed away early Wednesday morning, Oct. 14, at Woodland Village where he had been a resident for three weeks
Harry was born on March 20, 1926 in the town of Forest, Wis., a son of the late Francis and Martha Schifelbine Lehmann.
He attended Elda Grove Elementary School in the town of Forest and later received his GED from LTI in Cleveland.
On April 15, 1948, he married Bette Mueller at St. Cloud Catholic church. The couple resided in St. Cloud for five years before moving to Plymouth.
Harry was employed at Kohler Company for 40 years, retiring in 1988. After retirement, he worked part time at Evergreen Golf Course in Plymouth and tended bar at the Brown Bottle.
He was a member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and served as an usher in church for many years. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council 1789 in Plymouth and was also a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club.
Harry enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling and boating with family and friends. For many years, he also enjoyed wintering in Florida.
He always took great pride in his lawn and flowers. He recently took up feeding the birds and watching them in the birdbath. He also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers play.
Harry spent the last years visiting each day with his wife, who has been at Rocky Knoll for the last seven years.
Survivors include his loving wife Bette, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center; two children, Linda (Allen) Escher of New Holstein and Allen Lehmann of Sheboygan; eight grandchildren, Brad (Dana) Escher, Amy (Chuck) Giesen, Chris Escher (fiancée Deb Payne), Sarah (Troy) Burmeister, Josh Escher (special friend Jen Basten), Eric Escher, Ryan Lehmann (special friend Megan) and Heather Lehmann; great-grandchildren, Alyshia and Brittany Giesen, Ethan and Alexander Burmeister, Shelby Reimer, and Jackson Lehmann; brothers-in-law, Ambrose (Betty) Mueller of Plymouth and Raymond (Viola) Mueller of Idaho; sisters-in-law, Marion Lehmann of Plymouth, Rita Lachmund of Florida, Imelda Barry of Elkhart Lake, Marion Mauer of New Holstein and Delores Cain of Elkhart Lake.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Earl Lehmann, and one sister, Marie Schroeder.
A funeral Mass will be held at 6:30 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 16, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, preceded at 6 p.m. by family rites at Suchon Funeral Home. The Very Rev. Dennis Van Beek, pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 4 p.m. on Friday until the time of family rites.
A memorial fund is being established in Harold’s name.
