JEANIE T. BASKY

Jeanie T. Basky, 93, of Dalzell, formerly of Ottawa, Ill., passed away Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, at her home.

Jeanie was born Dec. 17, 1915 in Arma, Kan., to John and Margaret (McMilliam) McGill. She married Matthew Basky June 15, 1940, at St. Francis of Assisi Church. He died May 29, 1972.

She was a member of St. Francis Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of Americas, and AARP.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol Brandow of Dalzell, Ill.; one son, Larry (JoAnn) Basky of Plymouth, Wis.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Esther Wheeler of Ottawa.

She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Kathryn Crutcher and Margaret Heil; and four brothers, George, John, Neil and James McGill.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at St. Francis of Assisi Church with Msgr. Jerome Ham officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Ottawa Funeral Home, 1111 LaSalle St., Ottawa, Ill., with prayers at 4 p.m.
