Falcons finish third in EWC

The Sheboygan Falls Falcons boys soccer team closed out its regular season, with an 11-0 pounding of the Kewaskum Indians on senior night Thursday, Oct. 8.
Falls senior captain Lewis Halverson knocked in four goals to lead the Falcons, who had their way with the Indian defense.
With the victory, Falls improved to 10-4 in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference to finish third behind conference champion Plymouth and second place Kiel.
Seniors Ricky Haase, David Bimmel and Mitch Thimmig started the scoring barrage, before Halverson tallied on four of the next five goals.
Senior Nathan Brown sandwiched a goal in between, with two goals from junior Luis Hernandez and one from senior Dan Duda to finish out the scoring. Brown and Duda also recorded assists.
“We’re very excited for the regional to begin,” said Falcons coach Jose Hernandez. “Our goal is to be regional champs and get to the sectional.”
The No. 4 Falcons began WIAA Division 2 regional playoff action against No. 5 seed Waupun Tuesday, Oct. 13.
With a victory, Falls will play the winner of Kewaskum-Port Washington match Thursday, Oct. 15. Sheboygan Christian shutout Falls 2-0 Friday, Oct. 9. The Falcons dropped to 15-5 overall, following the loss.
