Galloway leads Elkhart at Lomira Invite
LOMIRA – Senior Myles Galloway captured fourth in the boys race to pace the Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah cross country teams at Thursday’s Lomira Invitational.
Galloway was clocked in 17 minutes, 29.8 seconds on the 3.1-mile course. The champion was Lomira’s Joe Luedtke in 17:02.8.
The Elkhart Resorters’ A squad finished sixth with 129 points. Elkhart also had a B team that took 10th (last) with 337.
Senior Megan Meyers led the Resorters in the girls meet with a fifth-place effort in 16:47.0 over 2.5 miles. Meghan Falconer of Sheboygan Lutheran took first in 15:55.0.
Elkhart placed fifth with 101 points in the 11-team meet. Lutheran won the title – edging Central Lakeshore Conference rival Random Lake, 47-48.
“The teams ran well. We had three medalists [top-35 runners earn medals] for the boys and girls,” said Resorter head coach Dan Stephanie.
“It was a good team effort. We’re bringing our times down. I think we’re peaking going into the conference meet,”
The CLC meet will be held Thursday at Sheboygan Lutheran, starting at 4 p.m.
