Galloway leads Elkhart boys to third in CLC Meet
SHEBOYGAN – Senior Myles Galloway finished fourth to lead the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters to third place in the Central Lakeshore Conference Cross Country Meet Thursday afternoon at Sheboygan Lutheran.
Galloway, who had a time of 17 minutes, 11 seconds on the 3.1-mile layout, earned All-CLC honors for the fourth straight year as a top-10 finisher.
Junior Amy Thieleke of Howards Grove is an all-league competitor for the third consecutive season after taking sixth in 16:37 over 2.5 miles.
The Resorters have a pair of All-CLC runners in the girls meet in seniors Kate Vollrath and Megan Meyers who captured seventh and ninth, respectively. Junior Marina Paul of Cedar Grove-Belgium was the champion for the second straight year in 15:35.
Senior Matt Bahr paced the Howards Tigers in the boys race with an 11th-place showing. Senior Josh Mulloy of Cedar Grove-Belgium successfully defended his boys title with a time of 16:36.
Cedar Grove repeated as the boys champion in impressive fashion as the Rockets scored 19 points – taking the top-three places. Elkhart tallied 100, followed by the Tigers in fourth at 110.
Cedar Grove won the girls meet with 37 points. Elkhart finished fifth at 125 and Howards, seventh, with 172.
“The boys had a good performance. I was pleased with all of them,” said Resorter head coach Dan Stephanie.
Stephanie said Galloway’s All-CLC honors for the fourth straight year is quite impressive.
“Megan and Kate ran very well. All of the girls ran well,” he said.
“Today was a satisfying end to our regular season. I thought my kids ran very well,” said Tiger head coach Gary Kalk.
Trevor Schueler, Brian Eschen and Phillip Gessler had personal bests for the Tiger boys.
