Seven-week spinning course offered; hall walking begins Nov. 1

Plymouth Community Education and Recreation has added another spinning course.

Spinning is an indoor workout on specialized bicycles.

The seven-week course will run from Nov. 2 to Dec. 16 at 3:15 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in the Riverview Middle School gym balcony.

Another fitness opportunity begins Nov. 1 when Plymouth High School opens its halls to members of the public looking for some indoor exercise this winter.

The hall-walking program runs from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 3 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, November to April. Hall walking also is allowed on the Saturdays of swim lessons and on Sundays during open swim.

There is no cost, but registration is required each year. To register, contact Community Education and Recreation at 892-5068 or visit the office in the high school.

Walkers should enter at the Community Education entrance and indicate on the roster when they are in the building.

A map with distance information can be found at www.plymouthcommed.org/fitness.htm.

Seven laps equals a mile for one designated route, three laps for another.

Participants can join the Hall Walkers Club. Those who reach the 50-mile mark will have their names displayed on the Hall Walkers bulletin board. Awards will be given in 25-mile increments above that.

Walk Across America, a fun and special incentive to walk, will be offered in January. Look for more information with the winter offerings information.
