PAC drawing workshop

The Plymouth Arts Center is presenting a drawing workshop conducted by artist/teacher Paula Swaydan- Grebel, for students ages 14-adult. The three 2.5-hour sessions will be held Monday evenings: 6:30-9 p.m. Oct. 26, Nov. 2 and 9.

Swaydan-Grebel of Plymouth is an artist who received her Bachelor of Fine Art degree from California State University of Long Beach and continues to study from lead painters such as Ken Auster, George Strickland, Dan Gerhartz, Steve Gerhartz and Peggy Kroll-Roberts. She has received numerous awards, to include national awards such as first place in the 1999 Artist Magazine Contest, Best of Show at the Cedarburg 2005 Plein Air Contest and ASW National Cover contest.

Swaydan-Grebel’s artist statement: “I draw and paint as a means of expression. As far back as I can remember, I have created to understand and communicate the world around me. I now work in oil paints for I enjoy how I can manipulate and push about different colors, values, and textures.

“My goal as an artist is to produce honest work that connects us to our world in unexpected ways. To do this I need superb technical skills and full control over my medium and tools.”
