JAMES ANDREW JONES

James A. Jones, 62, of W4792 County F, Waldo, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009.

Jim was born March 15, 1947 in Milwaukee, the son of the late Francis and Opal (Buchner) Jones. He attended Washington High School in Milwaukee.

On Dec. 7, 1973, he married Doris Vieth in Milwaukee.

Jim was a self-employed carpenter from 1968 up until the time of his death.

Jim was a member of the Waldo Lions Club, served on the Random Lake School Board for 12 years and coached baseball for the Random Lake School District.

He was a self-taught engineer and architect. Jim enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking, crossword puzzles, taking walks with his dogs at the pond, and drawing plans. He was always willing to help anyone with his unlimited supply of patience. Jim was a devoted husband and father, and found great joy in his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; four sons, Andrew (fiancée, Laura) Jones of Hingham, Errol (friend, Heather) Jones of Random Lake, Michael Jones of Random Lake, and Dan Jones of Hingham; three grandchildren, Gwyn Jones, Blake Taylor and Gavin Kraiss; one sister, Therese Gaudesi of Milwaukee; seven brothers, Douglas (Susan) of North Carolina, Francis (Donna) of Glendale, Michael of Arizona, Daniel (Mary) of South Milwaukee, Matthew (Geralyn) of Milwaukee, Phillip (Penny) of Waldo and Robert Jones of Kansas. He is also survived by an aunt, Nora Stanley of Illinois; many nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of dear friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Patrick Jones; two sisters-in-law, Terry Jones and Elsa Jones; and one brother-in-law, Peter Gaudesi.

A celebration of Jim’s life will take place at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, with the Rev. Wayne DeVrou officiating.

Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.wenigfuneralhome.com.
