ALAN J. LENSMIRE

Alan J. Lensmire, age 77, of 540 S. Pleasantview Drive, Plymouth, Wis., passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning, Oct. 26, 2009, surrounded by his loving family at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay where he had been a patient for the past week.

He was born Oct. 29, 1931 in the town of Mitchell, a son of the late Edward F. and Blanche Schefsky Lensmire. Alan attended Payne Grade School in the town of Mitchell and Plymouth High School.

On Nov. 13, 1954, he married Rose Schwind at St. Michaels Church in the town of Mitchell. The couple resided in the town of Mitchell until 1989 before moving to Plymouth.

Alan was employed in the family business, Lensmire Cheese Factory in the town of Mitchell, until 1989, before working for K.W. Electric in Plymouth until his retirement in January of 2009.

Alan is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and was a former member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Parnell.

He enjoyed reading, fixing things and spending time with his loving family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Rose of Plymouth; two children, Joseph Lensmire of Plymouth and Carol (Louie) Cortinaz of Plymouth; three grandchildren: Ashley (Tim) Bohnhoff of Plymouth, Frank Buell of Plymouth and Garth Buell of Plymouth; two sisters, Eileen (Alvin) Jaeckels of Cascade and Mary (Gordon) Dreifuerst of Plymouth; four sisters-in-law: Elizabeth (David) Chapman of New London, Dorothy Roehl of St. Cloud, Alice (Stephen) Schultz of Random Lake and Leona Lensmire of Plymouth; and also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Marie; two brothers, Robert Lensmire and Edward and Sharon Lensmire, and one sister, Jean and Wayne Kolpin; and one brother-in-law, David and Laura Schwind; and his mother- and father-in-law, Henry and Marian Schwind.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Parnell, preceded by family rites at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth at 9:45 a.m. The Very Rev. Dennis Van Beek, pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, will officiate and burial will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of family rites.
