4-H- BRAVE BEARS – October 2009

The Oct. 1 Brave Bears 4-H Club meeting was called to order by President David Derus at 6:34 p.m. The American pledge was led by Zoe Urquhart, and the 4-H pledge was led by Laura Basch.

Secretary’s report was given by Dakota Ortiz.

There was no treasurer’s report given because Treasurer Zoe Urquhart had to step down from her job. A vote for new treasurer was held and won by Emma Schuren

There were no correspondences this month. Roll call was taken by Secretary Dakota Ortiz and the question was, “What do you like most about fall?”

Old business:

• Nick Bimmel spoke about the club fair booth. We received second place, and the theme was “Sticking Together.”

• Nick Bimmel also spoke about Anything Goes, which was held Sept. 6. Five members from our club participated.

• Laura Basch told us about the club garage sale. We raised $171.25.

• Emma Schuren and Jeremiah Ortiz talked about the 4-H open house. Our club made trail mix at the fairground Sept. 22, and at UW-Extension Sept. 29.

New business: • Katherine Luther reminded us that the Pizza/Pie Fundraiser forms are due at the November meeting.

• Steven Derus also reminded us that the Christmas in July work date would be Oct. 13 at the Town Hall.

• Nick Bimmel told us that the October Window Display is at the Falls library. We will be using our display from the fair.

• Nick Bimmel also told us that the fall fundraiser would be at the Sheboygan Falls Piggly Wiggly Oct. 17 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

• Josh Konrad told us that the club Halloween Party is Oct. 30 at the Sheboygan Falls Town Hall from 1- 3 p.m.
Announcements:
The club dues ($8 per member) are due by December.
Club officer training is Oct. 29 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Speeches and demos:
There were no speeches or demos this month.
The Oct. 1 meeting was adjourned by President David Derus at 7:27 p.m.
