4-H- MADISON ALL STARS – October 2009

The Oct. 13 meeting of the Madison All Stars 4-H Club was held at the Sheboygan Falls town hall. It began with Abby Faul calling the meeting to order. The American pledge was led by Brian Burkhart, and the 4-H pledge was led by Brianna Born. The roll call was “What is your favorite Halloween costume?”

The secretary’s report was in the newsletter. The treasurer’s report was given by David Bimmel. Ashley Oppeneer said there was no reporters report this month.

Heather Pfeifer said there was no Sunshine Committee report this month. The Youth Association report was given by Shawn Burkhart, and Randy Meyer gave the Leaders Association report. There was one letter of correspondence read by Abby Faul. There was one addition/correction to the agenda; Randy Meyer was going to speak about the fair premium checks.

Old business was next on the agenda: The fair booth - window display was talked about by Jolynn Zinthefer; they put the display in the Falls library. Elizabeth Barthels gave feedback about the awards banquet; she said it was a success and thank you to all who came. The theme of the booth at the 4-H open house was “come and have smore fun,” according to Tyler Fischer.

Next was ongoing business: David Bimmel gave the Wreath Sale report and said that the forms were due to his house by Oct. 28 at the latest, and pick-up was going to be Nov. 16. The Pizza Sale forms would be due by Oct. 30; and the pick-up will be Dec. 5, according to Elizabeth Barthels. Tiffany Fischer gave the Popcorn Party report and said that the signup was in the newsletter. Road America baby-sitting was talked about by Colton Sukowaty and would be Oct. 31; they would need kids 12 and older to help baby-sit and members were asked to call Dawn or Brittany Konop for any information. The fair premium checks were handed out by Randy Meyer, and there was a total of $522.

The speeches and demonstrations were as follows: Abby Faul talked about horse care, Katie Deheck played her clarinet, Peter Bimmel talked about the State Fair, and Sara Fisher talked about her Spanish trip to Ecuador.

New business was next and included the following: Abby Faul talked about Halloween roller-skating and said that it would be Oct. 17 from 1:30-3:30 p.m.; there would be a costume contest. Sara Fischer gave all of the new member information and then talked about the committee signup. Randy Meyer asked for a motion to continue bell ringing at Evans and Piggly Wiggly; the motion was clearly passed. Edith Tauschek gave the Christmas Parade report, and it was decided that we will be in the Sheboygan parade on the Sunday after Thanksgiving and the Sheboygan Falls parade Dec. 5; the lineup is at 3 p.m. with the parade at 4 p.m.; there will be a signup in the next newsletter.

Randy Meyer and Bev Resop filled us in with the Leaders Report. Randy said all old members should check their mailboxes. On Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. would be the Awards Banquet at Laack’s Hall. On Oct. 24 he would desperately need help with parking at the Enchanted Forest. Bev stated that all of the people who said they would come to the roller-skating party need to go because there is a 30-person minimum.

Mark Fischer made a motion to adjourn the meeting, and Tyler Fisher seconded it. The meeting was adjourned.
