Doctors reported several injuries that were not consistent to a baby falling a short distance. Injuries such as an abrasion to the tip of her nose, bruises on her left ear and right knee, fracture to the femur and two fractures at the base of her tibia, blood in her brain – coming from both sides as well as in between, and extensive retinal hemorrhaging. Officers again interviewed Wieberdink, and he admitted to being very upset because the baby kept crying and would not burp. While the baby’s mother was away at work, he bounced the baby harder and harder on his knee in an attempt to burp her. This went on for approximately two and a half to three minutes and during this time he was holding her chest and back and not supporting her head.
