St. Nicholas Hospital to offer Respiratory Health Fair
World COPD Day, celebrated on Nov. 18, raises awareness on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) worldwide.
The World COPD Day theme, “Breathless Not Helpless!” emphasizes that effective treatments are available for people who have been diagnosed with COPD, and raises awareness that – for people who have not been diagnosed –breathlessness is a signal that they should see their doctor for a lung function test.
St. Nicholas Hospital, Prevea Sheboygan Pulmonary Medicine, and Sheboygan Lung Specialists are cosponsoring “Every Breath You Take: A Respiratory Health Fair” from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at St. Nicholas Hospital.
The Fair will discuss how people with respiratory health diseases such as asthma, emphysema, or chronic lung can live better with these respiratory diseases. People can also attend the Respiratory Health Fair if they’re interested in learning about prevention and treatment of lung diseases.
Tobias Enright, MD, will discuss “The Burden of Adult Asthmas in the U.S.”
Dr. Enright is board certified in internal medicine, allergy, and clinical immunology.
“An Update on the Newest Advances and Patient Communication Strategies in COPD,”
will be presented by Mark T. Dransfield, MD.
