EDWARD A. SPRADAU
Edward A. Spradau, age 90, formerly of 560 Clark St., Cascade, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at Gables of Waldo.
He was born on Sept. 17, 1919, the son of the late Carl and Rose (Plautz) Spradau.
He married Delores Streicher on Aug. 3, 1942, at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. She preceded him in death on Aug. 24, 1986.
In April of 1942, he entered the United States Army and served during the European Theater in the Middle East, serving until September of 1945. During his military service, he received two Presidential Citations with three Oak Leaf Clusters for participation in the bombing of Pulaski oil field raids and the Normandy Invasion.
During his working career, he worked for the Gehl Company in West Bend as a welder for over 35 years, worked part-time for over 40 years welding at Johnson Tool and Hydraulic. He retired from Gehl in 1984 and from Johnson Tool and Hydraulic in 2002.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cascade, and a former member of the Plymouth Eagle’s Club.
He is survived by four children, Sandra Skrentny of Kewaskum, Jan (June) Spradau of Harriman, Tenn., Sherry (Dennis) Muench of West Bend, Scott (Cindy) Spradau of Cascade; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a brotherin law, Jerome (Jerry) Skelton.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Terry; a grandchild, Tony Spradau; a son-in-law, Robert Skrentny; two step-children, King and Ace Hutchison; a brother, Eugene; and seven sisters, Rosella, Dorothy, Marie, Irene, Mildred, Vera, and Ruth.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Nov. 7, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cascade with the Rev. Richard Bidinger officiating. Burial followed in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

Full military honors were conducted graveside at the Woodlawn Cemetery by Plymouth VFW Worlds Cheese Center Post 5612. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Edward A. Spradau.
