Schmidt weaves storytelling and song Nov. 20
From traditional folk and jazz music to soothing and fresh original contemporary tunes, singer and musician Claudia Schmidt will entertain audiences in a special lunchtime appearance at the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan campus at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, in the University Commons.
This concert is free and open to the public.
From lounging on a sandy beach on a tropical isle, to the images and memories of the struggles of youth, Schmidt can transport her audiences to just about anywhere through an amazing talent that weaves together storytelling and song.
Schmidt has been perfecting her craft of performing for almost four decades. It is a quirky and wonderful hodge-podge of music, poetry, story, laughter, drama, and celebrating the moment. Work in clubs, theaters, festivals, TV, radio has added depth and dimension, and since she has always included her original work along with very personal versions of the work of others.
All seating is first-come, first-serve at this performance. Food and drink will be available for purchase in the UW-Sheboygan Commons Café until 1 p.m. Vending machines are also available.
This concert is brought to the community and campus by the UW-Sheboygan Special Programs Committee as part of its 2009-10 Coffeehouse Entertainment Series.
