Railroad and jobs
To the Editor:
Plymouth needs to move forward with this railroad project. It has the potential of bringing in more businesses and industries, which could not only be creating more jobs but adding to the tax base of this community.
Think about it. With this one venture, the impact of creating as many as 650 jobs in Plymouth is
wonderful … yes.
This is just the beginning, but first the railroad builds new
tracks and then the jobs will come.
We can be so proud that this City Council has the foresight to move this railroad project forward.
As a longtime member of this community, I am happy to see this city continue to grow and provide more manufacturing
jobs. With the economy looking so bleak across this nation, we can be proud that companies are looking at the Plymouth Industrial Park for their companies to build and bring jobs to Plymouth.
Of course we all want to know about the start-up manufacturers that are forming plans to start their companies here. We must give these companies a chance to get their ideas in order and their paperwork ready before an announcement can be made. Remember, if you were looking at starting a company, would you want it broadcast all over town before the paperwork was started?
It is you, the company owner, who has and will want that privilege to make the announcement yourself, not
the city officials. You know you would be very upset if the word got out before you were ready to announce your company or business.
It is great that our City Council continues to work at bringing manufacturers to Plymouth, and we
the taxpayers will reap the benefits.
